PRT Growing Services Ltd. is the largest producer of container grown seedlings in North America. That's right, we grow baby trees!
We are currently looking for a Cold Storage Specialist to join out PRT Skimikin team, Tappen, BC, just 15 minutes northwest of Salmon Arm.
Our seedlings have been growing since spring and it is now time to ship them to our cold storage locations to simulate winter.
The details:
Reporting to the Nursery Manager, this employee is responsible for the organization of stock in cold storage. The selected candidate will be expected to move stock in and out of storage, meticulous records are essential. Due to the nature of the business the employee will be involved in a variety of tasks throughout the season including:
Shipping and receiving
Administrative support and data entry
Thawing of stocks prior to shipping
Monitoring stock quality
Crop and materials inventory
Shipping & receiving of other nurseries consumables
Any other nursery works as required including crop irrigation and measuring

Qualifications
What you bring:
Demonstrated adherence to safe work practice in a production/farm environment
Must be an organized, self-starter with experience working on multiple projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, with strong data entry skills and a keen eye for details
Strong customer service skills with the ability to stay calm and think under pressure
Ability to follow instructions, and communicate well with others
Must be able to lift 45 lbs. regularly and work under the elements of the outdoors
Valid driver's license and a valid certification in operating power mobile equipment. ( eg. Forklift, Skid Steer training) if not currently certified must have the ability to acquire certification upon hiring.
